The Bolle Emperor has been a staple of the bolle goggle line for a few seasons. It has always been a great fitting goggle with an incredible field of view. I got a chance to test the Matte Black frame with Vermillion Gun lens at opening day in Park City, Utah today and let me say I was impressed.

The frame is cool and understated and fits the face extremely well. But the real standout performance was from the Vermillion Gun lens. The weather was heavy snow with very flat light and this lens peformed extremely well. It remained clear through the snowfall and provided excellent vision through the light conditions. What is exceptional about this goggle/lens combo is the lens performs equally as well in bright, sunny conditions.

The skiing was pretty incredible for opening day. Park City opened with several good runs.

So there you have it. A great first day on snow with great gear. Check back tomorrow for a review of the Lange XT 130 ski boots.
